Methodology and sources

Understand how MundiData collects, presents and validates economic indicators from different countries.

Identified sources

The dashboard prioritizes central banks, exchanges, official statistics agencies, the World Bank, ECB, BIS and market data providers. The source and date appear next to each indicator.

Different frequencies

Quotes may change during the day. Inflation, GDP, reserves and debt may be monthly, quarterly or annual. An annual series remains valid historical data, but should not be read as a current quote.

Validation and availability

When comparable sources use the same date, the system can calculate differences. When a source does not return a suitable series, the dashboard reports the limitation instead of inventing a value.

Comparisons

Comparisons preserve unit, currency, reference date and source. Purchasing power uses World Bank purchasing power parity and is not a substitute for a cost-of-living analysis.
